Playback speed is personal. Narration density, accent, audio quality, familiarity with the topic, attention, and whether you are driving or exercising can all affect comprehension. No. The formula assumes continuous playback at one constant speed. Pauses, sleep timers, chapter gaps, downloads, app-specific silence shortening, and manual rewinds can change real listening time.
Choose a speed that preserves comprehension and enjoyment. Many listeners start near 1.1× or 1.25× and increase gradually for familiar or straightforward material. Dense nonfiction, accents, language learning, and dramatic performances may benefit from a slower setting.
The tool adds adjusted listening minutes to the clock time you enter and wraps after midnight. If the duration exceeds 24 hours, it notes that one or more full days pass, but it does not schedule breaks across calendar dates.
