Frequently Asked Questions

We combine an adjective (Shadow, Crimson, Neon, Quantum…) with a gaming noun (Wolf, Reaper, Ninja, Dragon…) and optionally a number (007, 99, 1337, x). Five template formats vary the layout — joined, underscored, numbered, prefixed.

We can't check availability across platforms in real time. Most generated gamertags are short and combinable, so a fair number will be taken. Generate a batch of 30-50 and check the most distinctive ones against your platform's name search.

Our generator uses a fixed pool optimized for gaming feel (dark, mythic, sci-fi mix). For specific themes (anime, sports, fantasy), our Dragonborn Name Generator covers D&D fantasy, and the Random Celebrity Generator covers real names.

Functionally none — both are display names you pick. 'Gamertag' is Xbox's specific terminology (later adopted across gaming), 'username' is generic. Our generator works for both.

No. Generation is pure JavaScript random in your browser. Each click regenerates a fresh list. Nothing is logged or stored.
